Whipped Goat Cheese Dip Recipe with Garlic, Cilantro & Parsley
This creamy whipped goat cheese dip with garlic, cilantro (coriander), and parsley is a much-loved family favourite — quick to make and always popular across generations. With just five ingredients, it’s light, fluffy, and full of flavour.
While I often mash the goat cheese and cream cheese by hand with a fork (super easy and no washing up!), you can also whip it for a smoother texture using a Hand Blender (Immersion Blender) or a Food Processor . Either way, the garlic and fresh herbs are always stirred in gently at the end — don’t blend them — as it keeps the dip vibrant, rustic, and full of fresh flavour.
This healthy dip works beautifully as a make-ahead appetizer or easy party dip. Serve it with veggie sticks (like capsicum, celery, carrot, cucumber, broccoli), crunchy crackers, or warm bread. It can also be used as a delicious spread for wraps or sandwiches or dolloped on cooked vegetables or baked potatoes.
Ingredients: Goat cheese, cream cheese, garlic, cilantro (coriander), parsley.
While you can use 100% goat’s cheese (especially my fav marinated goat’s cheese), this recipe includes cream cheese for a milder flavour and smoother texture, creating a fantastic goat cheese and cream cheese dip that makes it more budget friendly. If you or your guests (like some kids!) aren’t keen on goat’s cheese, using only cream cheese creates a lovely mild herb dip too (see Notes below for details). It’s truly an easy party dip to prep ahead for stress-free gatherings!

Whipped Goat Cheese & Cream Cheese Dip Recipe
Ingredients
For the Dip:
- 320 g Marinated goat cheese I use Meredith Dairy marinated goat’s cheese
- 120 g Cream cheese
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1/3 cup Coriander (Cilantro) fresh a handful fresh coriander leaves/ cilantro leaves, roughly chopped
- 1/3 cup Parsley, fresh a handful fresh parsley leaves, roughly chopped
For Serving (Suggestions):
- 1/2 Red capsicum (red bell pepper), sliced into dipping sticks
- 1 Celery stick sliced into dipping sticks
- 1 Carrot sliced into dipping sticks
- 1/2 Cucumber sliced into dipping sticks
- 1/2 cup Broccoli florets 8 small broccoli florets
- Crackers, bread, pitta bread, chips or whatever you like!
Instructions
- 1. Soften the Cheese (Optional): If time allows, remove the cheeses from the fridge about 30 minutes before starting for easier mixing or whipping.
- 2. Whip or Mash the Cheese:Option 1 – By Hand: Mash the goat’s cheese and cream cheese together in a medium bowl with a fork until soft and mostly smooth. Option 2 – Whipped Version: For a lighter, whipped texture, blend the cheeses using a Hand Blender (Immersion Blender) or a Food Processor for 2–3 minutes until fluffy. (Optional: Add 1–2 tsp of milk or yogurt if needed.)
- 3. Add Garlic: Crush the garlic with a Garlic Press, Garlic Mincer or chop it finely and then crush it with the side of a knife and stir it into the cheese mixture. Mix well so the flavour is evenly distributed.
- 4. Stir in Herbs: Roughly chop the cilantro leaves and parsley leaves. Very finely chop the cilantro stems and save the roots for a soups stock or green smoothie (see notes). Set aside one small cilantro leaf for garnish. Stir the rest into the dip gently — don’t blend them.
- 5. Prepare the Veggies: Wash vegetables and slice them into sticks.
- 6. Assemble: Spoon the dip into a serving bowl, garnish with the reserved cilantro leaf, and place the bowl on a platter with the vegetable sticks arranged around it. Or use crackers, bread, pitta bread, chips or whatever you like!

NOTES & SUGGESTIONS
No blender? No problem: Mashing the cheeses by hand works perfectly and still gives a beautifully creamy dip — especially if you use a soft marinated goat cheese.
Don’t blend the garlic or herbs: Stirring them in by hand adds brightness, flavour, and texture. Blending would change the colour and lose the rustic charm.
Garlic tip for health: For extra health benefits, allow the crushed garlic to sit for about 10 minutes exposed to the air before mixing it into the cheese. This helps develop allicin, the powerful compound in garlic known for supporting the immune system, promoting healthy blood pressure, and fighting harmful microbes and parasites. Letting the garlic rest unlocks its full potential, even if the dip is eaten a few hours later.
About Cilantro Roots: Cilantro roots are often overlooked, yet they hold a special place in traditional herbal medicine. Valued for their gentle cleansing properties, they are commonly used in broths and healing soups, pounded into curry pastes and you can even blend them into smoothies. I like to finely chop and freeze or refrigerate them for later use — I do not like to waste something I consider so precious and valuable. Rich in antioxidants, minerals, and essential oils, they offer both culinary and nutritional benefits. (As with most herbs, large medicinal doses should be avoided during pregnancy.)
Shopping tip (Australia): If you’re in Perth, I’ve found that IGA supermarkets usually have a much better price on Meredith Dairy Goat’s Cheese compared to other stores. If you live outside Australia, I’ve spotted a similar product on Amazon — but it’s a blend of goat and sheep milk. If the goat’s cheese is anything to go on, I expect it will be delicious but it is not available in Australia so I haven’t been able to try it (even though Meredith Dairy is Australian)! Stronger flavour option: Use 100% goat cheese (skip the cream cheese) for a more intense tang.
Serving picky eaters or kids? You can make a milder version by replacing the goat cheese with an extra 320g (11.3 oz) cream cheese for a total of 440g (15.5 oz). The herbs and garlic still make it delicious.
Adventurous veggie sticks: If you are in the mood for being adventurous or having a superfood fest you could try purple carrot, rainbow carrot, raw beetroot (slice thinly), crisp kohlrabi, lightly blanched fresh asparagus, or crunchy fennel for extra colour and nutrition.
Use as a spread or on baked veggies: This dip is lovely in wraps, sandwiches, or dolloped on baked vegetables – just divine on a baked potato.
Spicy kick: Add black pepper or finely chopped fresh chilli for a little heat.
