Sylvia Charczuk presented being the change you want to see in the world

Sylvia Charczuk will be giving a talk and leading a discussion about "being the change you want to see in the world". She will guide us though her journey in Laos, and how she came to adopt over 3,000 children and funding their education by using her natural skills of art and uniting people in love. The last six years of her life have been filled with struggles like being arrested by the communist military in Laos, building a library and kindergarten, a computer center and funding 15 scholarships for college youth.

Her mission is not only to fund education and give children a brighter future, but to enlighten children to the world by teaching them the importance of peace keeping and peace building, agricultural traditions, health and finally compassion for all mankind.

We hope you can join us on this very special day, filled with love and compassion.
We will have a short video as well, and refreshments. We look forward to discussing with you how we can harness our inner power and unleash it on the world in a conducive manner for the benefit of everyone and everything.

The entrance fee to the presentation (1,000 as usual) will go to building a chiki guesthouse that will be run by a local family who needs a house; therefore creating a sustainable development situation for one family and enhancing the educational programs of the village by providing a place for internationals to donate their knowledge and talents to chi-ki children's charity programs. Also, it will provide a space for anyone to come to Laos, learn about the culture and how they can reproduce the same structure that chi-ki has built in the region.

You can get more information about the Chi-ki Childrens Charity at http://www.chiki.ca/news_events.html

May 2008

Hari Tahil presented:
Nonviolent Communication - Speaking from the Heart

Nonviolent communication (NVC) is a way of expressing one's feelings in a clear and responsible manner, and then being able to ask for what one wants. It’s also a method of understanding what others want when they are communicating in ways that are unclear or ‘difficult’.

NVC is not about getting what you want, or tricking or dominating others through verbal skills. Rather, it is about everybody being understood and from there, true communication taking place.

The underlying concepts of NVC are simple and easy to learn, though like anything else, putting them into action takes practice.

The presentation at the Circle of Light will introduce the basics of NVC, and through a series of exercises, participants will have an opportunity to understand experientially what NVC is and how to use it.

The practical applications of NVC are unlimited, though parents, children (of all ages), employees, employers, husbands and wives, and therapists will immediately recognize the value.

April 2008

Learn about hypnosis!

About the Topic:
Hypnosis is a trance state that is used to access the subconscious mind and transform the beliefs that are held there. We have all experienced trance states while daydreaming, studying, exercising, driving, and waking up in the mornings. Hypnosis allows us to use this trance state to conquer fears and phobias, overcome insomnia, manage pain, improve confidence, and much more. In this talk, Karen Mattison will explain what hypnosis is, how it works, and what its applications are and then demonstrate hypnosis to the group.

About the Speaker:
Karen Mattison is a certified Clinical Hypnotherapist specializing in accelerated healing and pain management. She has a private practice in Akasaka. Karen is also a Reiki Master/Teacher. For private sessions or to arrange lectures, workshops, or training, please contact Karen at tokyohypno@gmail.com.

March 2008

A Taste of the Rawvolution!
with Chef Felix Schoener

You may have heard about a new wave in eating that is sweeping across North America that encompasses raw and living foods. Previously unwell people are finding relief and in many cases, complete reversals of physical, emotional and mental symptoms after embracing this diet. But be warned: side effects can include a loss of weight! People often report an enhancement of spiritual connection to nature and of moving into lives more filled with love, calmness and oneness.

Felix will be bringing along a blender and a food processor to the meeting and showing you how easy it is for you to start on this road with a few simple and delicious recipes. Moreover, you will be able to sample what he prepares ;-) He will talk on the philosophy behind this lifestyle choice and will also leave the plan open for intuition to lead him, and for your questions.

Felix's philosophy is to use the finest ingredients and also to have the senses delighted, with the gifts from Mother Nature being used in their most perfect, most unprocessed whole natural state.

About Chef Felix Schoener

He was the executive chef at The Farm, San Benito, The Hippocrates Health Resort of Asia, in the Philippines, which was the winner of a Spa Asia award in 2004 and 2005. He is a very talented and exceptionally well trained chef who apprenticed with several 2/3 Michelin star chefs in Europe. When he changed his life direction to one more in harmony with Mother Earth he took further training in natural and wholesome ways of food preparation at Gabriel Cousins "Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center" in Arizona and at Cheria Soria's Living Light Institute in California.

Felix now applies his considerable talents in the field of classical gourmet cuisine to raw, living and wholefood cuisine to create exciting, mouth-watering, sophisticated and sometimes decadent dishes that are truly good for you, guilt-free and will put a smile on your face.

Felix's present projects are that he is writing a book on Ethnic Tastes in Living Cuisine, with Cheria Soria, and is on an around-the-world trip visiting countries, spas and hotels to sample cuisine, and research and experience the various culinary tastes and local techniques that he can then apply to his style of Holistic Food Preparation.

"Organic Vegetarian Cuisine is a way
for humans to connect and work
with Mother Nature and not against her,
bringing a natural balance to our busy,
fast-paced lives and using our precious
earth resources wisely.
We respect and enjoy the blessings we receive every day."

Oneness Deeksha Experience at Circle of Light

Background of Oneness Deeksha and Oneness University
The Oneness University is a university for awakening and Oneness. Its purpose is to promote learning and growth in consciousness, leading people to a truly happy and fulfilled life. At the Oneness University, courses are conducted for growth in consciousness, and for the initiation of the participant as a Oneness Deeksha Giver, who can serve others by sharing a tremendous gift called the Oneness Deeksha.
The University was founded and its vision inspired by Sri Amma Bhagavan, husband and wife, and two people loved and revered throughout India by millions and also the world over. As a manifestation of one consciousness in two beings, male and female, powerful divine energies flow through them, and their intent and consciousness together fuel the phenomenon of the Oneness Deeksha.

What it is
The Oneness Deeksha is the transfer of an intelligent divine energy that causes a neurobiological change in the brain and brings about a shift in our perception and experience of life. It can be shared by touching the receiver’s head or remotely, through intent. The Oneness Deeksha kick-starts an unending process of inner growth, marked with profound insights and experiences unique to each individual, eventually landing him or her in remarkable states of consciousness. Sri Bhagavan, one of the founders of the University says, no inner effort can ever bring forth inner growth. It must be given. In a time when this grace is abundantly available, the Oneness Deeksha is one powerful manifestation of this gift.

How it works on people
The Oneness Deeksha is guided by an intelligence, which provides an entirely unique experience for each individual. For some, it may be a journey toward complete self-acceptance. For others, it may be the discovery of living life from the heart. Yet others may find themselves deepen in communion with their own God. However it works on you, what is common for everyone is that the journey happens in your daily life and takes you to a place where there is no more suffering.

Yuichiro Kamikawa

Wayne Ellsworth and Shizuyo Sato spoke on: Community Healing and Transformation thru ToP® Dynamic Facilitation. Learn authenticity through successfully serving others in large groups.

Is there a gap between healing Individuals, and healing groups and communities? Being in communities suffering from their cut-off-ness from the historical process, from Tsunami, earthquake, and drought, seems no easy task, but Wayne Ellsworth and Shizuyo Sato will be here at the next Circle of Light to dialogue with everyone about the deeper sense of healing communities, and discovering the hidden assets that make communities come alive.

They succeeded in Aceh after the Tsunami, in Nepal in the midst of the revolutionary forces, and in Chiapas Mexico with indigenous women and families. Come and hear their stories about facilitating healing and vision in communities around the world using the ToP® (Technology of Participation) methodology, and experience a demonstration workshop!

As a valuable extra, you will be invited to attend the conference in Atami Japan in November 2008, aimed at unblocking the development process through healing and group facilitation.

There will be a participatory presentation with slides, a demonstration and discussion, and time for questions.

May 2007 - The Tarot of the Revelation

For the first time ever, the real origins of the Tarot have been uncovered, and with a startling discovery – that the Tarot is no less than a powerful tool for spiritual development, until now known to very few, and decoded by none other than the greatest American psychic ever, Edgar Cayce.

The Tarot of the Revelation is a tool both for advanced Tarot readers and for those seeking spiritual growth, and while traditional Tarot systems follow the Marseilles or the Rider-Waite systems, the Tarot of the Revelation draws on a far older and richer source – the Bible.

The Book of Revelation has been protected by a curse for two millennia, but now its secrets are fully revealed!

The talk and slide show of May 20th will cover the history of the Tarot, the differences in the three styles of Tarot and how the cards can be used for spiritual exercises.

About Chris:

Chris graduated London University SOAS in Japanese and Chinese, MA in Transpersonal Studies from Atlantic University, established by Edgar Cayce, and PhD in Neuroscience from IIAS. He’s worked in Japan for more than 20 years in Pharmaceuticals and Banking, currently president for an American pharmaceutical trademark consultancy. He is the author of five books, including Tarot of the Revelation and Letters from an English Public School. He is also the Governor of the Edgar Cayce Center in Tokyo.

The EMF Balancing Technique - presented by Eva Van den Broeck
December 17th 2006

"EMF, A Golden Leap Forward In Our Evolution"

The EMF Balancing Technique is a New Energy tool designed to balance
and strengthen the human electromagnetic field (also called the Universal Calibration Lattice or UCL) - a magnificent latticework pattern of light and energy fibers, which is also our personal connection with the Universal Energy Source (Cosmic Lattice).

EMF uses a "human to human" effect to help us enhance our balance and carry the full charge of our being. The alignments received during EMF sessions allow us to release energies around past experiences or fears that no longer serve us and to fully become Creators of our life and experiences. So we can move graciously towards Empowerment, Life Mastery and the Radiating of our own Truth...

The initiator of the EMF Balancing Technique is Peggy Phoenix Dubro, a member of the Kryon team. This technique was developed at a time when the electromagnetic grid of the earth started to shift drastically. Thanks to the EMF alignments, we stay attuned to the new energy patterns of Earth and we strengthen our energy field in preparation for the major shifts to come.

An essential part of the DNA information of our cells is electromagnetic and we may see the UCL as an extension of our DNA coding. The balancing and strengthening of the UCL is a complementary method to clear and activate our DNA.

At the Circle of Light, a short presentation will be given on the structure of the UCL and on the procedure and benefits of the different balancing sessions available within the EMF technique. It will be followed by an alignment with golden energy - the Spiral Sweep - and by a demonstration of an EMF mini-session.

About the speaker:
Eva is a Practitioner and a Supervisory/Mentor Teacher of the EMF Balancing Technique.

She has a scientific background with a Master degree in Mathematics and Actuarial Sciences and she held several middle management positions in the IT and Human Resources fields with international companies.

She has been working for years in close co-operation with Peggy Dubro and also translates for Peggy (from English into French) at life events.

" I feel so blessed to be able to walk between the worlds of science and spirituality. My EMF initiation with Peggy in May 2000 was love at first sight! In my private practice, it is pure joy to see adults and children become even more who they really are and deepen their mastery. Teaching EMF is witnessing other people fall in love with both the technique and themselves.

For each student learning the technique, I see doorways opening and a sense of trust, joyfulness and wholeness building up. I feel honored and privileged to teach and co-create this New Energy of Love in Belgium and in the wonderful energies of Tokyo."

Eva will be teaching in Tokyo before her presentation at the Circle of Light and is happy to announce her One-Day EMF Workshop on Sunday 3rd of December 2006 as well as her 5-days EMF training on 5th to 9th of December, 2006. For more information about the workshop and training, you may e-mail Eva at eva.michaele@skynet or Rae Chandran at rae@crisscross.com. Circle of Light mini workshop facilitated by Petya Lowe
Sunday November 19th 2006 from 18:30-20:45

Unimaginable Solutions – the Family Constellations approach.

We are all connected to one another at the level of the soul and through what is sometimes called the morphogenic field. This field literally connects us all intuitively with one another, and explains why we know who is calling before we pick up the phone, and why cats know when their owners are going to take them to the vet and hide.

This is particularly true for the family as we are connected energetically and emotionally to our family of origin for the entire period of our physical life, regardless of how much distance we may think we have, or would like to have created. We are all our parents’ children, and what a child wants more than anything else is to find harmony within the family.

While personal work is invaluable in determining subconscious beliefs and ensuing behaviour, Family Constellations reveal hidden influences that are ancestral in origin and cannot be determined by conventional methods.

Almost any situation can be addressed by Family Constellations, and by working with the field, previously unimaginable solutions can be found for any issue, such as those around relationships, work and health. Little, if any, prior knowledge of the family is required; all that is needed is a clear personal issue.

A constellation can also assist in identifying and expressing the nature of an issue, even when one is not sure of what is causing difficulty or pain. While many constellations are set up to explore deeply embedded problems, they also serve people who are confronted with difficult choices, whether they are issues around personal direction, career or relationships. Constellations can help with this decision-making by providing a unique chance to observe representatives actually embodying the choices in question. This can provide insight and clarity at an important crossroads in your life.

By constellating an issue, you will gain new insights and understanding from seeing entirely new dimensions to the issue. With the expanded perspective, and a focus on solutions (rather than the problem), you gain the strength and renewed vitality to overcome previous limitations and dissolve the conflict and suffering. A Family Constellation is created in a group setting, with individuals being selected to represent members of a family. Everyone is intuitively placed in a position by the client, including an individual to represent the client, and the constellation then starts to come to life.

Representatives begin to feel the emotions, fears and desires of the persons concerned, and start to take different spatial positions and portray the inner dynamics of the family system. In a very remarkable and profound way, the true story of the family is expressed and clearly seen, often for the first time.

The role of the facilitator is to understand how harmony can be brought to a system, and to offer “unimaginable solutions” for the members so that everyone is recognized. In this way, deep healing occurs in the system outside the constellation setting, even for those who are not present.

At this mini workshop at the Circle of Light Petya will give a brief introduction to the Family Constellations approach and will offer some of the participants the opportunity to constellate an issue. Please come prepared with something you would like to work on. Also, please try to be there by 18:20 so we can begin on time.

Since first meeting Bert Hellinger, the founder of the so-called Family Constellations approach, in 2000, Petya Lowe has been learning how to work with the field and assist people to find answers in their lives. Petya and Hari will be holding their next Family Constellations workshop in Tokyo on Sunday December 3rd 2006, please see their newsletter for more details: http://www.omplace.com/lifeforces/news-nov06.htm
and visit their website www.lifeforces.org for more information on their work.

On Sunday, 15th of October 2006
Chris-Tian RA spoke at the Circle of Light on ...The Influence of Dark Force on Humanity and the Nature of Light

"I always wondered why 'on earth' we have so much suffering, pain, fear, might and destruction in the human experience on a personal and global level, despite the immense efforts of 'Light Workers', Self-awareness groups, Spiritual teachings and the thousands of groups and institutions around the world who try to bring peace, harmony and love. No explanation, neither that of my own or others ever entirely convinced me...

...until enlightened beings, named The MASTERS OF THE PYRAMIDS, showed me the root cause of this ongoing disaster - and the cure." Chris-Tian RA
This talk is part of a series of lectures and workshops given by Chris-Tian RA to help you awaken to your True Self. He will share his own experiences on that path and give you practical tools for your journey into the Soul as well as making you aware of illusions, restricting beliefs and conditionings in the human experience and how to overcome them.

In addition Chris-Tian will lead you into experiencing one of the unique meditations given to him by THE MASTERS OF THE PYRAMIDS for the Awakening into the Soul. At the end of the evening there will be room for your questions, comments and discussion.
· Chris-Tian RA, International Channel-Medium, Healer, Spiritual Teacher, Author

Always a free spirit, Chris-Tian RA discovered on his journey that the greatest freedom possible comes from being Soul-Aware. His teachings are rooted in his own experiences and are not bound to any religion, a particular spiritual movement or any other belief system.

At the age of eighteen he had a unexpected Out-Of-Body experience that lasted for two hours. Bathed in the purest Light and unconditional Love this event set the direction for his future Life. His vocation emerged shortly after the birth of his second daughter in 1985 in Munich/Germany. His crown chakra opened during his first Meditation ever in this lifetime and a spiritual Teacher announced his presence to him. After a year of intense training on how to work with this spiritual being he began to offer his services as Channel-Medium and Energy-Healer. Until 1998 he had worked with thousands of people throughout Europe, supporting them on their Life's Journey. MURAM, the name of his spiritual teacher, is until today the main 'source' in his One to One work with people. Following an intense inner call to live in New Zealand it did not take long that his First Eye, the energy centre in the middle of the forehead, began to open, the beginning of his connection with the spiritual teachers THE MASTERS OF THE PYRAMIDS. Slowly Chris-Tian RA became able to receive the first clear messages from these highly evolved beings. With support of his ex-wife and friend Nina he channelled vast amounts of messages and created the first book with the teachings of the MASTERS 'Awaken to Your True Self'. Practising the meditations given to him, Chris-Tian RA experienced for the first time in this life complete awareness of the Soul. He realised that passing on these teachings to others was a big part of his vocation and he gave countless talks, workshops and study groups throughout New Zealand. Guiding fellow brothers and sisters into Soul Awareness became one of the highest priorities in his life. In 2003 his body became very ill and in a coma-like state new messages and images from the MASTERS started to stream in. They showed him the impact of a Dark Energy on the planet and he could see to what extent Light and Awareness was diminished by that Force. After a quick recovery he began a new cycle of channelled readings with the MASTERS and created the second book 'The Transformation of Dark Force and the Awakening of Humankind'. At the same time he incorporated the new messages and meditations into his workshops.

At present Chris-Tian RA is working in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland as well as giving Channelled Readings over the phone to people from around the world. He will be in Tokyo from October 3- November 30, giving Talks, Workshops and One to One Sessions. He also performs 'house clearings' from Spirits who haven't found their way back home into the light after their physical body has died.

“The Way to a Peaceful Mind – The Work of Byron Katie presented by
Ashik & Nina Lynch”

Ashik & Nina Lynch

Byron Katie is an American woman in her mid-sixties who after many years of depression and suffering, woke up one morning to a totally new world. She was able to see that her suffering continued as long as she believed her stressful thoughts, and when she questioned them she discovered that reality, truth, or "that which is", were much
kinder and more benign than she had been experiencing.

In that realization she found a simple technique that can be used by anyone to question their thoughts and radically change their lives, and this is The Work. She describes her experience and the realization which came from it in her book "Loving What Is" .

By doing the Work we see how we take for granted ideas, thoughts, and beliefs about ourselves and others which cause us to suffer because they are contrary to what is. By discovering these assumptions and questioning them we come to see that life can be joyful, stress-free and peaceful, and that the peaceful mind is closer to truth than the fearful thoughts we are habituated to. The Work is for anyone, it has been compared to Socratic dialog and Zen koans, and has been taught in hospitals, corporations and prisons. It has helped people with depression, anxiety, phobias, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues and much else. We teach you to do the Work with a facilitator and also alone, in writing.

At the Circle of Light we will introduce the Work in the form of practical demonstration. Attendees will be invited to participate in doing the Work with us and will learn how it is done. We will be open to any questions that may arise and will attempt to do the Work with as many people as wish to do it. Those who choose to observe will also learn.

About the speakers: Nina is a graduate in Transpersonal Psychology from Naropa University and Ashik has an MA in Philosophy from the University of Oxford. They have both practised meditation for over thirty years, and were originally drawn to the Work from that perspective. We attended the 9-day School for the Work with Byron Katie, and subsequently returned to staff two more Schools, as well as assist her in several 3-day events. We regularly volunteer on the hotline sponsored by the Byron Katie website, and are dedicated to sharing the Work wherever we are asked to do so, in Japan and our home base of Colorado, USA, and worldwide through the medium of teleclasses, which are listed on our website www.withoutyourstory.com

Nina and Ashik are happy to announce their two-day Tokyo Workshop
on 23rd and 24th of September 2006

Presencing Pain – Gateways to Healing
An Experiential Evening - Circle of Light Presentation
by Jack Blackburn

Pain is not the source of suffering – Fear is!
I wonder if presencing pain, because it is so different from our normal reactions, forms new synapses in the brain. Being with our pain in the present moment opens up three gateways for exploration:

–First, as a de-conditioning process; we may find that going into pain can break down our patterns of aversion.

–Second, as a reliable way to experience our own inner reality, while noticing the thoughts that continuously take us into fear or denial.

–Third, because presence is always a new experience, anything, including pain and aversion, that is linked by presencing arises freshly in every moment.

Eckhart Tolle in The Power of Now talks about the difference between the pain body and the joy body. He indicates that we can enter the joy body at any time just by the willingness to be with or appreciate what is occurring in the moment.
In this presentation I will develop this theme even further by teaching methods to all participants for presencing the body. These methods will reveal a hidden secret: that the body, far from being the reservoir of pain, is actually the touchstone to our own conscious awakening. I will attempt to show that by changing our relationship with our bodies all of us can experience the source of own healing.

Presence: Probably the biggest change to occur in human consciousness in the 21st century will be shifting to a different center of consciousness, presence, which exists within each one of us. The worldwide movement towards continuous presence appears to be cumulative, sweeping many towards the goal. Presence is a state of being in which one becomes conscious of the interconnectedness of all life, all times, all places, and all existence. Each of us has had moments that stand out because we’ve felt these connections. The experience of presence can seem fleeting and even impossible to recreate. Many of us have journeyed far and wide to find better and better ways to recreate these experiences.

Presencing: By presencing I mean the conscious choice to practice presence. The operative word is choice. Once we discover the presence inside, each of us becomes responsible for our own awakening. Once we recognize that this center is the only real antidote to the fear and suffering we humans have created, we will choose to activate our own shift in awareness. Once we have set our intention to move beyond the chaos of our fearful minds, all of life becomes useful for practicing presence. The body surprisingly is the key link to this change. Upon feeling this connection, we can become facilitators and advocates for this change.

Pain as a Gateway
Most of all things on earth I hated pain till God hurt and tortured me; then it was revealed to me that pain is only a perverse and recalcitrant shape of excessive delight. Sri Aurobindo, Thoughts and Aphorisms

Echoing Sri Aurobindo, presenced pain may become an entirely different phenomena – excessive delight!

The Body and Presence: The body, it can be argued, exists only in the present moment and is reflecting the present moment continually to its owner as sensation and awareness. In that sense “the body never lies.” Experiencing presence is possible because we are in bodies. As a bodyworker of many years, I have noticed that the body is an incredible communicator because it always reveals one’s state of being. When our bodies are perceived through the lens of presencing, our bodies can become reliable loadstones for our lives.

By design the body communicates through its various systems: mental, chemical, affective, neurological, positional, sensorial. These channels of communication produce internal sensation and thought. When thought is consciously directed towards tracking these processes, thought changes from brain-centered and abstract, to body-centered and present. If we train our minds to pay closer attention to these communications we establish somatic links to the body. The body and mind form a somatic unit that is capable of tracking inner and outer phenomena reflexively.

Touch: My trainings for bodyworkers, counselors, and businesspersons, include attention to presencing touch. Anyone can learn to use their hands to listen to the body and thus accompany the inner experience of another. The key ingredient to presencing touch is to learn to listen to one’s own bodily signals continuously. We will spend time developing our sensitivity and then practice using our hands to listen. We will then partner as givers and receivers. The receiver will also be sensing into the part of the body in question; thus a sensory meeting place is established. As both persons presence a painful part of the receiver’s body, both will experience the transformation that happens through passing through the gateway of pain.

About Jack Blackburn:
Teaching: Jack started teaching classes to bodyworkers in 1994. In addition to teaching Trager and Reiki, Jack teaches many nationally certified professional classes for bodyworkers. In addition he has started teaching classes in presencing to businesspersons, teachers and counselors in Japan, Canada and Europe.

Spiritual Direction:
Jack has been an earnest spiritual seeker since the 1960s. He has studied Eastern and Western: mysticism, prayer, meditation, yoga, tai chi and Zen. Jack managed Theosophical and a vipassana retreat centers. In 1994 Jack earned a Master’s Degree in Theology and became a Spiritual Director. He combines spiritual counseling with bodywork practice and helps many persons with their inner lives.

Bodywork: Prior to becoming a professional bodyworker, Jack practiced Therapeutic Touch and Re-evaluation Counseling, and took trainings in Orthobionomy and Feldenkrais. He certified as a Trager® Practitioner in 1986 and a Reiki Master in 1989. He has been trained in craniosacral therapy and positional release.

Medical: Jack worked to reorganize the emergency medical system on Orcas Island. In this capacity, he became manager of Orcas Island Medical Center. He served as a Emergency Medical Technician, hospice volunteer, kidney dialysis helper. He became a patient advocate, researcher and performed blood draws and blood readings, for his wife who was suffered with leukemia. While not still married; they remain close friends. By learning about allopathic medicine in this way, Jack is able to assist his clients by helping them research their illnesses, and build networks of support and advocacy.

Supervision and writings: While attending graduate school, Jack was exposed for the first time to formal peer, group, and individual supervision of his bodywork and spiritual counseling practice. He has started various peer supervision groups, including an inter-professional group in 1993 that continues to this day. Jack has worked as a supervisor for bodyworkers since 1994. His writings and classes have grown out of this diverse background of research, study and practice.

On Sunday June 18th our speaker was Emilie Kemlo, Canadian Registered
Psychologist and Professional Art Therapist presented:

A slideshow and talk on the C.G. JUNG AND ART THERAPY JOURNEY

This talk presents an Introduction to C.G. Jung`s Psychology through
Artwork from various artists and clients who have painted a Universal Myth or Fairytale from world literature, using Jungian Individuation Process Work with Emilie Kemlo, Psychologist. Guests will view slides, showing the painters` progression from the universal symbolism of the tale, into their own personal mythology and psychological process through the Persona or mask which hides our deepest secrets, fears and memories, which Jung called the Shadow.

Behind the Shadow are our buried concepts of masculine and feminine identity, Anima and Animus, and beneath this layer of identity, which comprises our Personal Unconscious, lie the Archetypes which make up the Collective Unconscious.

In Mythology we find the collective unconscious personified in the archetypal figures of the Wise old Man and Woman, the Gods, Demons, Sorcerers and Magicians as well as the Forces of Nature, Elementals and other Magical figures of the dreamworld. The aim of the course is a synthesis through exploration and awareness, of all the elements of the unconsious, personal and collective into an Individuation; a new sense of Wholeness in the outcome of the process work, The Archetype of the Self.

Those interested in the Course can sign up for an 8-10 week program in the Jung and Art Therapy Journey which has touched the lives of over 200 participants in my career as a Psychologist.

For this meeting our speaker Robert Brock shared the mental and
spiritual exercises of aikido
and show how they can be used in everyone’s daily life, from staying calm in rush hour to dealing with difficult phone calls to surviving the dentist’s chair!

Robert has been practicing aikido for over thirty years, more than half of them in Japan. Aikido is famous as the most moral of the martial arts, as it is defensive and the attacker is not harmed. But it is also technically very complex. To make its mastery more feasible, aikido schools have drawn on Japanese and other mystical traditions to provide mental aids to physical training.

Some of these techniques are:

Finding your physical center of gravity and making it your mental center too; how and why to move this unified psycho-physical center, expand it or contract it.

Simple and easy breathing exercises for when you need sustained concentration, relaxation, or courage.

The idea of energy flow (ki) and how to direct and use it.

Some of these exercises are meditative, while others are more active. The easiest way to decide for yourself that you have actually understood a technique is to accept a simple physical test. In this class we will learn how to do the required tests, and what it means when you pass or fail them. They usually consist of gentle pushes to the body, or attempts to bend someone’s arm. If you do not wish to give or receive these tests, please let the teacher know, you don’t have to do them.

A talk by Dean Charles (a certified NLP trainer)
on Neuro Linguistic Programming

What is your favourite type of movie? Do you prefer silent movies, ones that make you jump or something romantic that makes you cry? What about the movies that play in your head as you walk down the street, or travel to work, thinking about things that did, will or might happen? Do they make you smile? Make you jump? Or make you feel romantic? Which one is your favourite? Are there any that you’d prefer to erase?
With the help of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) you can run whatever movie you like to put you into whatever state you please, at any time. Enthusiastic, Passionate, Delighted, the choice is yours!

In this NLP workshop, Dean Charles, NLP trainer resident in Tokyo, will guide you through a series of simple and highly effective processes to help you exercise greater control over your own thought processes: the pictures you see, the sounds that you hear … the way that you feel. Using fun and humour we will explore the world of movies (internal and external) and how they can help you to squeeze even more juice and joy into your life

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a methodology that works from a number of presuppositions. A key one is that all behaviour has structure. That being the case, those structures can be modeled, learned and taught. NLP has a technology that aids practitioners in organising information and perceptions in ways that enable them to achieve outstanding results.
SO…

If you have behaviours or perceptions that you don’t want, then NLP can help you to erase them.

If you have behaviours or perceptions that you like, then NLP can help you to enhance them.

If there are behaviours or perceptions that you want, then NLP can help you to achieve them.

Dean Charles is a certified NLP trainer with the Society of NLP and has run a number of NLP-based workshops in Tokyo. He has studied with Elizabeth Payea-Butler (NLP Master Trainer) of NLP Possibilities, Toronto, Canada and has received training from Dr. Richard Bandler, cofounder of NLP. Dean has lived in Japan for five and a half years and has been a teacher and trainer for sixteen years.

During Golden Week 2006, Dean Charles and Elizabeth Payea-Butler will be conducting a nine-day intensive Certified NLP Practitioner’s Course in central Tokyo. For further details please contact dcharles@intrapersona.com as well as www.nlppossibilities.com

Akihiko Wakabayashi on the The Heart of Eastern Medicine: Lifestyle Adjustment

When you think of Eastern medicine, what usually comes to mind? Is it the treatments provided by your practitioner - acupuncture, shiatsu, moxabustion and herbal remedies?
According to this month’s Circle of Light Speaker, Akihiko Wakabayashi, therapy in any Eastern medicine clinic is just the beginning of the healing journey. Tonight, he’ll talk about the keys to healing that you can do yourself either in conjunction with an Eastern medicine practitioner or by yourself.

Come ready to work in pairs and small groups. Timed conversations will help you become aware of choices you make everyday regarding sleeping and eating patterns, dietary choices, bowel functioning, and emotional cycles.

About Akihiko Wakabayashi
Akihiko Wakabayashi’s roots in Eastern medicine go back to 1987, when he joined the Akahigedo Clinic in Yoyogi and began a period of Taoist training under Dr. Nobuyuki Takeuchi that would continue for the next ten years. Sixteen hour workdays, macrobiotic cooking and then eating the opposite extreme, daily toilet cleaning, were part of the “lifestyle training” activities that helped inform his understanding of lifestyle choices that lead to well-being. In 1997 Aki left Akahigedo for a six-month sabbatical, traveling to Europe and the United States where he gave lectures in more than ten cities. Upon returning he opened his own healing practice in Okachimachi, which focuses on crisis management and lifestyle adjustments. In 2002 he published “Medicine for the 21st Century,” about his life at Akahigedo, the healing adventures and the travels that followed, a book that sold more than 2,000 copies.

More about Seitai
What is Seitai?

Originating from Japan, Seitai is a form of total health methods to revitalise and balance the whole being. Seitai literally means “a body in order”: thus the art of Seitai aims to bring your body back into its own full capacity and natural state in harmony with the mind. The knowledge of Seitai is based on Ki, the Principle of Vitality and the very force governing changes in the human body. Ki in Japanese is called Qi in China, Prana in India and rLung in Tibet.

Five principles of Seitai:
‘Health means to live life honestly without imposed purpose’
1. To regain health, return to your original state of being!
2. Focus on your strength and whole being, not the weaknesses and symptoms
3. Keep your heart clean, clear & pure
4. The living being is the most precious thing in the world, treat it as such
5. Never think that someone heals another: each one heals through his or her own innate Ki

What is the purpose of a Seitai consultation?
Seitai is originally a hands-on technique that guides patients towards self healing. However in these specially modified sessions you learn about a new life-style and specific self-regulating, Ki-stimulating exercises and hot water treatments that can be used independently and according to the needs of each person. The aim is to understand and restore one’s own natural balance of the vital force, Ki.

Pam Noda presented
SPEAKING CIRCLES - OVERCOME STAGE FRIGHT AND EXPLORE THE MAGIC OF YOUR PRESENCE
Imagine standing in front of any group, feeling absolutely at ease and enjoying the rapt attention of your listeners. The delightful surprise is that being seen and heard by a supportive, attentive audience is also a powerful tool for personal discovery and professional growth.

On January 15, Pam Noda will introduce you to SPEAKING CIRCLES, regular gatherings where participants practice a simple, natural method of inviting connection with one's listeners.

Rather than dealing with performance technique or content, SPEAKING CIRCLES focuses on the basis of effective communication---known as "relational presence," or the art of achieving comfort and connection through being fully present and completely authentic.

Pam, who is the only certified SPEAKING CIRCLES facilitator in Japan, was once terrified of meeting new people and appearing before groups. In this experiential, workshop-style presentation for the Circle of Light, Pam will teach you the process that evoked her personal transformation. You will tap into your natural ability for relational presence, for deep listening, and for authentic selfexpression. Come prepared to participate in interactive exercises, and maybe even to take a turn in front of the room!

Our guest speaker Chris-Tian RA back by popular demand spoke on: "Establishing the connection between the Heart and the Soul."
A spiritual channel-medium, healer and author, Chris-Tian has spent the last 20 years travelling the world with his spiritual work. He is presently based in New Zealand where he conducts workshops, channelling and healing sessions, and is finishing his second book.

In October Chris-Tian spoke about Soul-Awareness and gave us many tools and keys on how to enter into this state. He returns to share further information from the Masters of the Pyramids who say: "In the physical sense THE HEART is responsible for supplying the entire organism. And therefore the physical heart is the center of your physical body. We tell you this because it is transferable to the metaphysical, spiritual level. On this level the heart is also the center, in this case of your being. The heart is therefore the most important switch point in the physical as well as in the non-physical. Your consciousness cannot be separated from your heart. The heart is your true brain and ALL THAT IS is stored therein. It supplies you with all kinds of information, knowledge, in other words, nourishment. This is being activated in turn by the opening of your TRUE EYE which enables the stream of knowledge to flow unhindered. IT IS THEREFORE A FACT, THAT A HUMAN BEING WHO STANDS IN CONSCIOUS CONTACT TO HIS/HER HEART, IS NOURISHED BEST.

" Chris-Tian is available for personal channelled readings and healings until November 29. For further information please see below or visit:

At The main focus in the Talk will be on Soul-Awareness. Chris-Tian will describe his own journey and will give as many tools and keys on how to enter into this state of awareness. Obviously there are many hurdles that need to be adressed on the path into the Soul, but in this talk he will focus on the hurdles of power, control and fear and will show a way on how to grow into true freedom, beyond the limitations of the mind, where fear and control is not an issue anymore. He will explain how the people in power implement fear and control and how to deal with these energies on a personnel and global level. We will also experience a meditation together, Lifting the Veil of Oblivion! This meditation, like many others were given to me by 'The Masters of the Pyramids', the spiritual teachers he has been working with for many years.

While in Tokyo Chris-Tian will be giving three other talks in English with Japanese interpretation in the Nakano area, as well as weekend workshops, and he is available for personal channelled readings and healings throughout his visit. Making Art with The Genesis Cards by Liane Wakabayashi
A Community Arts Experience at The Circle of Light
At the September 18th Circle of Light meeting, please come
experience “Genesis,” a medium for relaxation, intuitive exploration, and building a healthy sense of creative self-confidence.

A journalist and frequent commentator on the visual arts, Liane turned to art ten years ago despite an inner voice that had been saying “no you can’t” since she was a teenager. But who was saying No? A voice of ambition was speaking. What if the ambition was “ just” to use art as a tool for relaxation and pleasure, and self-acceptance?

Freeing the mind clear of an agenda, allowed for art to be whatever wanted to come through intuition. Simple pictures arose from the imagination, from hopes and dreams for a family, and vague memories of beautiful places. Liane’s unborn children appeared with strong resemblances to Mirai, nearly 8, and Seiji, 3. Locations she couldn't see in front of her were rendered with accuracy, some with great beautiy like Mount Fujii and the flat coast of northern Scotland, and others with the horrendous accuracy, like the roiling waves of the December 26th Tsunami.

Ultimately, the intuitive voice said “share this technique with others.” Liane credits it with being behind the making of the “ Genesis” deck of cards with Andy Boerger, and the following that now grows in Tokyo and beyond for the cards and workshops. The “ Genesis” cards work on the premise that anyone can discover great beauty and depth in their own art, and hear the voice of wisdom coming from their own intuition, if given simple tools and messsages of focus.

Please check out Liane’s “Genesis” website, and if this approach beckons you, we hope to see you at the September 18th meeting with hands ready to draw. If you have a sketchpad, bring one. Liane will provide the pastels.

Journalist/writer/author Angela Jeffs introduced
"DRAWING ON THE WRITER WITHIN"
- the pioneering creative writing classes/courses and workshops she is now teaching in Tokyo and beyond, and guide COL participants through some basic practical exercises.

Angela's courses are intended to jump start anyone who has ever wanted to write, but thinks they can not or does not know how to begin.

Anyone can write, she says. "We all do. We write lists of shopping, notes and e-mails every day, for example."

The idea of consciously putting words on paper, however, often causes us to freeze, or panic. Why is this? It is the terror of thinking of ourselves as creative beings, with a voice to be heard. It is the terror of Art, of being A Writer.

Some people find it easy to put words onto paper, but feel they lack imagination, have little of importance to say, are blocked, or are simply bored with the type of words their jobs demand they write. Other people may feel they have stories inside them and ideas that they want to communicate but lack the ability and confidence to dive in.

Angela combines exercises based on observation and sensory perception to inspire confidenceand make writing fun and rewarding on any number of levels (Drawing on the Exterior World), with the Proprioceptive method of finding your authentic voice (Drawing on the Interior World). Proprioceptive writing synthesises emotion and imagination to generate authentic insight and joy, using music, meditation and a simple focussing tool.

Quote: The word "proprioception", which comes from the Latin " proprius", meaning "one's own", normally refers to our body's proprioceptive system. Just as the five senses take in information from the outer world - what we see, touch, smell, taste and hear - and transmit to our brains, the little-know "sixth sense" of proprioception also gathers and processes information, but from the inner world of our bodies, the world we alone inhabit.(From Linda Trichter Metcalf & Tobin Simon's WRITING THE MIND ALIVE - THE PROPRIOCEPTIVE METHOD FOR FINDING YOUR AUTHENTIC VOICE)

The method helps you to:
* Focus awareness, dissolve inhibitions, build self-confidence
* Unburden your mind and resolve emotional conflicts
* Connect more deeply with your spiritual self
* Write and speak with strength and clarity
* Awaken your senses and emotions
* Liberate your creative energies
* Discover what it is you most want to write about

You can go to any number of writing courses to learn the structures involved in writing plays, novels, short stories, scripts, and the best ways in which to get work published. But if you cannot bring to life your true inner voice, then all is a waste of time, effort and money. This is where to start: knowing what you want to say and how to say it. The rest - your writing life, a more meaningful life - will naturally follow on...

Welcome.

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT "DRAWING ON THE WRITER WITHIN"
Thanks for being with us and leading us through a wonderful programme - it really is life-changing! You push mercifully (NOT unmercifully, as the phrase has it) and the results are pretty amazing. I enjoyed it immensely and things seemed to open up for me in a variety of areas. Helen Fujimoto (Australia) - Associate Professor, Japan College of Social Work, Tokyo

I feel very privileged to have been able to take part in Angela Jeffs' inaugural Drawing on the Writer Within course. As she promised in the course outline, Angela enabled us to reconnect with our "natural creative energy, drive and drama," facilitating surges of creativity previously unknown to all of us. This was accompanied by concomitant self-searching and personal growth, inspiring the participants to continually aim for even greater things! Through the many varied, challenging, and stimulating exercises and 'rites', we each learned how to have the confidence to write in our own individual voices, and to push ourselves to explore new worlds. Angela's individual attention, perceptive insights, and profound understanding of the creative and psychological elements involved provided a nurturing, supportive atmosphere that was truly conducive to acknowledging, developing, and improving our writing skills. Her wise, compassionate listening ear and incisive, encouraging comments supported us throughout this process, and continue to do so. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in writing.
Jillian Yorke (New Zealand) - Translator and interpretor/author/CEO
Aspire NZ

Well, I admit to a certain level of scepticism about a one day workshop having a salutory effect on my writing. In fact, my first question to myself was 'what writing?!' But, that was one of the key benefits of the workshop, for me - helping me to make it clear to myself that I am, indeed, a writer, and that the biggest thing standing in my way is...me. Another key benefit was the exercises - no-nonsense, well directed, and very beneficial. And, yet another key benefit is that I'm actually writing, and enjoying the process. Highly recommended.
Terri MacMillan (US) - Director, DE-I productions, Tokyo

There are very few opportunities to study creative writing in English in Japan. Angela has a workshop that is just the ticket for writing and getting feedback from someone who works in the industry and yet gives each and every student equal opportunity to write at his or her English writing level. Working with native and non-native speakers provides interestings insights, and Angela is just demanding enough to encourage the students to push themselves without ever leaving anyone behind. She makes a point to get you to bring out whatever you have within you. Tom Schmaltz (US) - Musician

...thanks for the terrific writing workshop, very illuminating and
cob-web clearing.
Lauren Shannon (US) - Manager, Fujimama Cafe-Bar-Restaurant.Tokyo.

BIOGRAPHY EMERGING: THE SPIRIT OF PUPPETRY ACCORDING TO WALDORF EDUCATOR HEATHER GOODWIN

Heather Goodwin, who runs the puppetry program at Emerson College, England will be in Tokyo for her first visit to Japan to introduce the unique style of beautiful handcrafted puppets that mystically appear to express the soul of their makers. For the past 5 years, she has run a popular puppetry course from April to June that draws people from all over the world to discover puppetry as an art form that "focuses on the inward side of the creation of the little being who wishes to be born under your guidance . . . and to know that they have lives of their own."

Heather will discuss how puppetry is used at Emerson College as an educational tool, as well as for self-exploration through biography, creativity, spirituality and the philosophical approach of Rudolf Steiner. She will lead us to a group discuss of the provocative question of what is puppetry after all? According to Heather, "We want to encourage them to emerge rather than dictate who we might want them to be!

Come ready to do some group exercises spontaneous play and even some of the modeling exercises. To find out more about Heather's visit and other workshops happening around Tokyo between June 11-24 organized by longtime Circle of Light member Liane Wakabayashi, please call 03-5722-2792, email: liane@axel.ocn.ne.jp or see the website www.genesiscards.com/puppets.html

Messages from the Body

Why does a particular person have a deep wrinkle in a certain area? Why do some people have a flat chest? Why does one have trouble with their spine? The body contains a lot of information, such as our biological inheritance, health condition of the past and of the moment and the state of the inner organs. Our bodies display not only physical information about us but also show a lot about our emotional state of the past and present, our personal psychological history, traumas and past experiences and even our beliefs and life-tendencies. The body is constantly expressing and talking to you. If we can understand its messages, we would be able to understand a lot about ourselves. However, the messages of the body are often ignored and forgotten by our conscious mind.

At this mini-workshop many experimental techniques will be used and they will give you a chance to re-connect to your unconscious and re-unify the body, feelings and consciousness. That would be an important step toward loving oneself with appreciation and understanding.

Our speaker, Yasuhide Murakami, has studied Psychology, Body Work, Yoga, Meditation and Martial Arts. At present he is practicing Colorpuncture, Body Work, Dream Work and Sound Therapy. He is also a Training Teacher of Esogetic Colorpuncture & Director of the Institute for Inner Science.Website:

KRYON - Heartwarming and Empowering Messages

Kryon is a loving entity who belongs to the family of Archangel Michael and Metatron. Kryon is the magnetic master who helped set up the grid for the planet earth. The main work of Kryon during this time was the adjustment of the grid system for the planet. This work was completed in the year 2003. This grid adjustment was done in response to the event which happened in the year 1987 called Harmonic Convergence. In the year 1987, our planet was measured for its consciousness. The planet has been measured every twenty five years for millions of years. During the measurement of 1987, to the surprise of many on the other side, the consciousness of the planet was considerably high. Because of the higher consciousness two other major spiritual developments took place. The first was in the year 1992 and this event was called 11.11. All the souls who have ever been incarnated on the earth and all the future souls who will be incarnated and the present souls who are inhabiting the earth was polled at a cellular level to know whether we are ready to take our power. Then in the year of 1994, the event called 12.12 happened. Even with almost 6 billion people on the Earth, there have always been place holders - holding the spiritual vibration of the planet. The planet1s spiritual vibration has to be maintained at a certain level. This was done by 144,000 entities including the devas of the rocks and of forests and others. They all left in the year 1994, since humanity was ready to take on this task of holding the spiritual vibration of the planet.

Because of the higher vibration and higher spiritual energy of the planet, we were ready to receive higher wisdom and higher knowledge. To be able to receive this higher wisdom, Kryon gave us many spiritual tools and gifts which if used properly awaken us to our true reality and claim our magnificence. The first of the tool Kryon gave us was called Implant which helps us to cross over the life times of karma we have been carrying through life after life. The main teaching of Kryon is that we are a part of God and we are walking in duality here in this planet and all the challenges and difficulties we have in our life is set up by ourselves. Since we have set this challenges ourselves, we can change it through using the new spiritual tools - the main of which is called the Power of Intent.

The other main teaching of Kryon is that all the work has to be done by ourselve
